Finsbury Park Sports Association
Finsbury Park
The Finsbury Park Sports Association now administers the facilities at Finsbury Park with members of Commercial Hockey Club and Gold Crest Cricket Club on the committee. The new clubhouse includes two change rooms, a clubroom with canteen and bar facilities, storage for sports and maintenance equipment, office space with enhanced accessibility and amenities, terrace areas and spectator seating. Finsbury Park was among some of the hardest hit parklands in the severe weather event of February 2022. The event caused widespread flood damage to facilities at Finsbury Park, including the complete inundation of the Gold Crest Cricket Clubhouse. The construction of a consolidated clubhouse for the clubs was identified as a priority under Council’s Rebuild and Recover: Flood Resilience Action Plan. This was jointly funded by Brisbane City Council, the Australian and Queensland Governments, under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements that the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport have assisted to deliver.
Commercial Hockey Club was established in 1944, built on the backbone of the hard work and dedication of many individuals and families, an ethic that's been passed on by our founders. Junior development encourages continuation into our senior teams at all levels. CHC continues to be a leader in Brisbane with the number of teams fielded, premiership wins and members who have served Brisbane, Queensland and Australia as players, coaches, managers and as administrators, umpires and game officials. Hockey fixtures are played on grass and artificial turf on many fields around Brisbane. Our fields at Finsbury Park are utilised for training and boys & men's fixtures with pre and post season activities and representative commitments, the hockey season breaks only for a couple of months at the end on the year.
Gold Crest Cricket Club competes in the Warehouse Cricket Association competition.

We field 5 senior mens teams in Summer and 3 in Winter. We also run junior programs (masters and blasters) and teams in BJNCA competition over summer.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly club free of politics and full of social events. We welcome all new players of all abilities to join our club and enjoy their cricket.
